Getting helpResources for the Elderly

If you have an older parent, I’m sure you have wondered how you will care for them as they age. Will staying at home be an option? Will they need to go to a long-term care facility? How will they pay for care? Where can we look for help with care, financial aid, or even legal assistance? Thankfully, there are many available   resources for the elderly if you know where to look.

Some resources for the elderly may include caregiver support, transportation, meal programs, companion assistance, home health, hospice care, respite care, adult day care, senior centers, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and the VA. There also many government agencies that provide assistance with and information on caring for the elder parent.

In future posts, we will look into and discuss some of these resources.
